HOW YOULL MAKE AN IMPACT
The Director, Technology Development will serve as the global functional leader for key R&D programs and platform technologies. Primary responsibilities include leading the team to rapidly execute key strategic programs and assisting the VP of R&D in developing the strategy for the systems, processes, and organizational structure needed to effectively deliver the franchise product portfolio and facilitate strategic growth of the business. Translate business objectives, customer insights, and market analysis into clear technical strategies and actionable development plans. Prioritize development efforts based on business impact, technical feasibility, and resource constraints. Develop and implement a robust, scalable technology development process that ensures speedy and predictable delivery with high quality. Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, researchers, and technical specialists. Oversee project planning, resource allocation, timelines, budgets, and risk management for technology development initiatives.

WHAT YOULL DO
- Leadership: Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, researchers, and technical specialists. Oversee project planning, resource allocation, timelines, budgets, and risk management for technology development initiatives. Using established people processes (performance, development, succession, and career), ensures their teams level of performance and capabilities meet current and future standards.
- Technology Development: Lead the execution of strategic technology development programs. Provides technical leadership to implement and advance a robust, scalable technology development process that ensures predictable delivery with high quality. Translate business objectives, customer insights, and market analysis into clear technical strategies and actionable development plans. Prioritize development efforts based on business impact, technical feasibility, and resource constraints.
- Strategy: Participates in corporate level strategic and resource planning. Define and champion the companys long-term technology vision and roadmap. This will include strategy for the systems, processes, and organizational structure needed to effectively deliver the franchise product portfolio.
- Collaboration and Support: Collaborates with senior leadership to ensure that the financial, staffing and operational infrastructure are in place to deliver upon agreed strategy. Responsible for staff planning, development and training of staff. Prepares and manages budget for agreed new product / process initiatives. Provides scientific support for technical and non-technical staff, including guidance and project review.
- Reporting and Communicating: Represents the department in various departmental and interdepartmental committees that address scientific and administrative initiatives. Reviews, writes, submits, and presents results of research initiatives both internally and externally.
WHAT YOULL BRING
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Engineering, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or Biotechnology
- Seven (7) years of medical device and biologics industry experience
- Seven (7) years of supervisory experience with responsibilityof direct reports performance
Preferred Experience/Skills/Certifications:
- Ten (10) years of related industry experience

- Leadership Skills: Ability to work within a matrixed organization and strong ability to lead a diverse team through change and growth.
- Commercialization of Work Products: Significant record or scientific achievement as well as products launching.
- Strategic Thinking: Strategic planning and interfacing especially for complex or critical products. Impact of regulatory changes on internal processes and products. Clear, comprehensive understanding of the link between department/ function and business strategy.
- People Development: Actively engages in talent management practices (selection, promotion, development, and engagement) to cultivate a workforce that is well aligned with current and emerging talent needs.
- Relationship Management: Builds and sustains partnerships across organizational boundaries and functions as well as outside the organization to achieve common goals and outcomes.
- Research/ Problem Solving: Leads thorough analysis of situations with appropriate attention to detail and the big picture including consideration of impact at multiple levels of the system.
- Communication Skills: Written, verbal, and presentation skills; ability to engage, inspire, and influence people.

COMPENSATION
Salary Range: $132,659 to $203,459 annually
Final compensation will be based on factors such as geographic location, qualifications, and prior relevant experience. The pay range for this position is $132,659 annually (entry level qualifications) to $203,459 annually (experienced in this role). Actual compensation may be higher based on the successful candidates knowledge and relevant experience.
